THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR PRAYERS
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you,
2 Thessalonians 3:1 NKJV
Do you know that you have a vital role to play in the ministry of Jesus Christ going on in the world? You have been ordained to make contributions to the work of God that will make a major difference. And truly, your failure to make those contributions would mean that things could go very wrong.
One of such contributions which we are ordained to make is the supply of our prayers. Our prayers are vital to the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the world. Consider our theme verse. Apostle Paul asked the saints in Thessalonica to pray for the team, so that the Word of the Lord would run smoothly.
This simply means if they didn't pray as they ought, then the Word of the Lord wouldn't run smoothly. They had a portion of prayer to supply to the work, and it's not just them. It includes even you. The next verse is even more informing. He says, pray for us to be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men. (2 Thessalonians 3:2)
Your prayer contributes to the deliverance of God's servants from evil and wicked people. Your prayers aren't ordinary. They make a difference when you supply them, and God has committed this responsibility to you. Remember, His house shall be called, a house of prayer.
Prayer: Dear Father, I pray that your Word spreads mighty through us, as you grant us opportunities to preach, and utterance to speak. The message will not be hindered, neither will your messengers be victims of evil, because your hand is mightily upon us, in Jesus name. Amen.
