OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 NKJV
Have you ever related with someone who was very snobbish and rude? If you have, you'd notice that it was very easy to also become snobbish and rude to the person as well. This might even happen unintentionally, but would be a response to the person's original bad behaviour.
This is to show how easy it is to be overcome by evil. You might have been a very loving person, and kind at heart, until you met someone who treated you so badly, and took terrible advantage of your kindness. Now it's difficult to be kind and loving again.
No, don't be like that. Don't be overcome by evil. Did they hurt you? Let it go. Don't let the evil of others shape you into something you weren't created to be. How does apostle Paul say it to the Thessalonians?
See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. (1 Thessalonians 5:15 NLT) Remember, it's the life of the Spirit that we are living. Remember, you are a living sacrifice to God. Not your human will, but His divine desires. Overcome their evil by doing good and not evil to them.
Prayer: Father I thank you for your selfless love which has been poured into my heart by the Holy Spirit whom I have received. I am not consumed with anger, pain and hurt. I let it go, in exchange for the love and peace of God in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
