IT'S BY HIS MERCIES

However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. I Timothy‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There is nothing we ever got or will ever be in God, except by His mercies. Everything we have, everything we are, and everything we will ever be in Christ are a result of His salvation delivered to us. That salvation is emphatically a function of God's mercy on us. The mercy of God is the choice of God to be gracious and kind to us, even when we don't deserve it.

Therefore when we were still sinners, Christ loved us, and gave Himself as a ransom for us. (Romans 5:8). Then He brought us into His kingdom, and made us the recipients of His mercy, such that we should live our lives by the mercy of God. (1 Peter 2:10)

The mercy of God is the undeserved graciousness and kindness of God towards us, making His help and His grace available to us, much more than we need. (Hebrews 4:16). So be conscious of His presence in your life, and therefore of His mercies in your life too.

Don't think God's mercy is just to pity you when you do wrong. No. There's forgiveness in His mercies yes, but then, the best part of His mercy is the supply of His help and grace to keep you from doing wrong, training you in righteousness for the display of His excellence. Live by His mercies. 

Affirmation: Dear Father, I thank you because I have obtained your mercies, which increase and multiply daily in my life. By your mercies, I live in righteousness, and for your glory, walking by faith and love in the Spirit, and living above the flesh in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
