LIVE IN READINESS
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. I Thessalonians 5:4 NKJV
Yesterday we talked about our meeting with Jesus in the sky, scheduled to happen really soon. In a split second, we will be changed to put on the glorious body of Christ, and we will be caught up in the sky with those in Christ who were dead, but will be raised at the sound of the trumpet of God. (1 Corinthians 15:52)
When we discuss these things, many are curious to know at what time exactly these things will occur. Jesus spoke to us about the season of the end, but not about the exact time in particular. (Matthew 24). He gave us signs by which we should watch.
And indeed, the signs for the end of this dispensation are largely upon us. Though we don't know the exact day, we do know the time is really close. This should fill our hearts both with joy for our lord's return, and with a sense of urgency for how we should live.
Those who are in the darkness, (i.e separated from Christ, not born again), do not understand these things we speak of. It sounds impossible to them. But we live by faith and not by human beliefs. Therefore we must live eternal life now more than ever. Live as one who is expecting his master's return. Live in readiness, because the Lord is coming.
Prayer: Dear Father, I recognise that the time for the end of this dispensation is very near. I choose to live for you everyday. Living in readiness. I live by the Holy Spirit, and not by human feelings or wisdom in Jesus name. Amen.
