ESTEEM THEM HIGHLY
And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves. I Thessalonians 5:12-13 NKJV
The Word of God admonishes us to recognise those who labour among us and are over us in the Lord to teach, and correct us. That Word recognise means to acknowledge them. If we are urged to do this, then we must be intentional about it.
This is about your pastors, spiritual leaders in church or fellowship, or any Christian organisation, cell leaders, Sunday school teachers, music ministers and so on. So long as they labour among you, and are over you (i.e have shepherding duties in the body), then we ought to acknowledge them.
Appreciate their works, firstly with your true character and attitude towards them. Your obedience and your honour. Your willful, and quick response to them exhibits this honour. Let them know they are valued. Also, with your gifts and substances.
The Bible says if they minister to you in spiritual things, you ought to minister to them in material things. (1 Corinthians 9:11). Appreciate them with your substance. Then, we should esteem them highly. That means hold them in high regard in your heart. These will show in your character towards them, and this is how God wants us to live. Hallelujah.
Affirmation: I believe in the Lord, I am established. I believe His prophets, I prosper. Dear Father, I thank you for the wonderful pastors, prophets, evangelists, teachers and apostle with whom you've blessed us. I pray your grace is multiplied unto them, as they are preserved in your love in Jesus name. Amen.
