BASIC NEW MAN CHARACTER
But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Colossians 3:8 NKJV
As a Christian, a new man in Christ, do you realise that there must be a change in your character and lifestyle, in reflection to the redemptive work which has been done on you by the Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus? Yes, you cannot keep living in the worldliness and indifference which characterised you while you were unregenerated.
This is not something that you will try to do to prove you're truly born again no, it's something that will be produced from you, as you intentionally give vent to the life of Christ streaming from within you, because you are truly born again.
But you must be intentional to give vent to that new life, because the world will try to block that life from flowing from you, with it's clogs of worldliness, distractions and sinfulness. So now, you cannot go on in anger like you used to. No more explosive attitudes. You're not a bomb.
Now, you can't hold a grudge or an offence against somebody. They will try to offend you definitely, but refuse to have space in your heart to harbour their offence. Let your heart be filled with love instead. And your language, no more vulgar and dirty, but full of gracious and wholesome words. Thank God for your new life!
Affirmation: Father I thank you for my new Life in Christ. For the grace and beauty your Word and Holy Spirit have imparted to me. I think like your child now, and talk like your child, and not like the world. I live in your beauty and glory in Jesus name. Amen.
