LEARN TO STAND
Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.
Philippians 4:1 NKJV
Our theme verse, as simple as it seems, contains an admonition and instruction which should not be ignored. Stand fast in the Lord. You see, don't just assume you're standing right, unless you've asked how to stand. Because the scripture makes it plain that it's our responsibility to stand, and shows us just how.
Ephesians 6:13 says, Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. You see, there's "all" which you have to do, to stand. And it's when you've learnt to stand normally as a Christian, that you'll be able to withstand in the evil day.
It's important to understand that standing is something you should have mastered as a normal life, even before the enemy strikes in the evil day. It's by the same life that you've been standing, that you will also withstand. Therefore learn today to take up the whole armour of God.
Put it on. Be clothed with it. Over your mind, over your thoughts, over your emotions and words. Stand your ground on them. The truth according to Jesus, your righteousness and righteous living, be a person of peace, be full of faith and highly assured of your salvation. Be full of the Word, and give yourself to prayer. This is way to stand.
Affirmation: In the name of the Lord Jesus, I learn to stand. I clothe my mind, my thoughts, and my words with the whole armour of God, I think, talk and live as I should. According to the truth. I stand in Christ Jesus, and therefore I withstand in the evil day. Glory to God!
