FAIL TO NOTICE
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
Philippians 3:13 NKJV
What do you have to do, in order to move forward in life, and reach for the vision of God for you life? Apostle Paul tells us, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. What does this mean? It means overlook the past. Fail to notice them!
You see many times, people will try to characterise us by our pasts. Few times out of mockery, but many times because they think that that's who we still are. Other times, your own mind will replay scenarios for you, and the devil will also try to remind you of your past. But don't be a prisoner of your past.
Two things are necessary. Number one, decide that that's not who you are anymore. Irrespective of what that past is. Decide that it's not who you are anymore. This decision is based on you being a new creature in Christ Jesus. So now, you're a new person, created as the expression of God's righteousness.
Secondly, be convinced that you're actually a new person. Be convinced in your faith. Be convinced in the consistency of your confessions. Don't be unsure, whether or not you're now a different person, because if you're unsure, you cannot convince others at all, neither can you truly practice the new life. So do these two, and the past wouldn't hold you down at all.
Affirmation: My past has no grip on me, because I'm certain that I'm a new man in Christ Jesus. I live the life of the Spirit, through the grace of God, and the faith of God at work in me because I'm born again. Glory to God in Jesus name. Amen
