THE NEED FOR PRAYER
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
Ephesians 3:14-16 NKJV
After teaching the Ephesians extensively about their inheritances in Christ Jesus, and their spiritual realities, apostle Paul continues by saying, for these reasons, I bow my knees in prayer for you. You see, He told them a lot about how they've got every spiritual blessing in Christ.
About how they're seated with Christ far above all principalities and powers, and a lot about their inheritances in Christ Jesus. After all these, he said for those reasons he prays for them. Their realities in Christ, which they already have, the life they've already been given, drove the Apostle to pray for them.
He wasn't praying for them to be given these things. He was praying that these things will be formed in their hearts solidly, such that they wouldn't be shaken with doubt, fear and challenges. The knowledge of who you are in Christ should drive you to pray.
Because you've been given those things, therefore you must get mature in them. As you find out about your reality, remember you must live a life worthy of that report. How does it get formed in you? Through prayer and meditation. Give yourself extensively to prayer and meditation on the word. It's very necessary if you want to walk according to the life of Christ in you.
Prayer: I thank you dear Father, for granting me a life of divine blessings and an inheritance in you. I choose to walk according to the divine life in me. I am all you've said I am, and your power is at work in me in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
