BE READY
Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.
1 Peter 3:15 NLT
The Lord knows that we will face a lot of challenges in the course of our stay in this world. He knows there will be days when our emotions will be tried, and we may not feel too good. He knows there will be times when the storms and rain will beat against our houses, and though we will stand, the periods of the storm might not be the most pleasant of our experiences.
And even though He's aware of all these things that will try us and our emotions, he commands us through the inspired scripture to always be ready to explain our hope in Christ. In other words, we should always be ready to share the gospel of why we believe in Christ to anyone who might want to know.
Why is this necessary? It's necessary because, who knows, that might be the person's only chance to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and be saved.
Remember what the Holy Spirit says through apostle Paul, in 1 Corinthians 7:29-30. But let me say this, dear brothers and sisters: The time that remains is very short. So from now on, ... Those who weep or who rejoice or who buy things should not be absorbed by their weeping or their joy or their possessions. (1 Corinthians 7:29-30. NLT) Don't let your experiences in this life capture your mind, such that your functionality becomes dependent on them. Decide to be tough. The grace of God will help you.
Affirmation: I am not a child of my experiences. By the power of the Holy Spirit at work in me, I am toughened, prepared and always ready to share and explain my hope in Christ, to those in my world, to the glory of God, in Jesus name. Amen.
