INTO ALL TRUTH
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
John 16:13 NKJV
The Holy Spirit is God's promise to us. He is the power and the Spirit of God, and He is God Himself. Jesus spoke expressly about Him during His ministry on earth. One of the major things the Holy Spirit does in our life is that He reveals the truth to us, and helps us to know it.
Jesus said He will guide us into all truth. This is so key. Sometimes people have difficulty hearing the Holy Spirit because they have a stereotyped way they expect Him to speak to them. Many times they expect that he will audibly tell them something concerning a matter.
But Jesus didn't say the Holy Spirit will necessarily "tell" us all truth. He said He will guide us into all truth. The emphasis is on guiding us into all truth. That's like taking us into the truth by experience. It's like ensuring that we realise the truth for ourselves, and not just because someone said so.
It's deeper than telling. This helps us realise that the Holy Spirit puts more emphasis on communicating His ideas into us, than just telling us about them. Many times He passses us through processes, and uses methods deeper than words, to help us realise the truth. Therefore, be more interested in His communications to you, without stereotyping methods for Him.
Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, I thank you for your presence in my life. I thank you because you guide me into all truth. Help me to yield to your guidance for me. In Jesus name. Amen
