THE WATER OF CLEANSING
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, Ephesians 5:26 NKJV
It was Christ's desire that the church, His body should be sanctified and cleansed. Nobody wants His body to be dirty. You and I have our bath daily, or twice daily to ensure our bodies are free of dirt. If we as people will make that much effort for our bodies, even on days we don't have to go out, how much more Christ Jesus.
He also doesn't want His body dirty. He wants His body clean and sanctified. We, with physical bodies use physical water to wash our bodies. But Christ with a body that isn't physical, has to use a cleansing agent that is beyond physical.
Thus He cleanses His body, by His word. His word is the water of cleansing for His body. When Jesus washed the feet of his disciples, he said to them, "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you." (John 15:3 NKJV)
This tells us something about the word of God, it is a purifier. A cleanser. Do you feel you're filled with dirt in your heart? Corrupt thoughts and imaginations? Vile words and wrong responses, then you ought to go for the word. The word of God, as you consume it continuously will clean you and rid you off all impurities to the glory of God!
Affirmation: Dear Father I love you, because your word cleanses me, and sets me free from all impurities. I am made pure and sanctified by your word in me. I choose to stay with the word everyday, in Jesus mighty name. Amen
