THE HOPE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH
For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. Galatians 5:5 NKJV
Through the course of the scripture, you realise that before Jesus came, the Jews sought to be righteous before God by obeying the law. They tried to obtain righteousness by the law. But they didn't succeed in this, and they couldn't because no man has the power to keep the entire law.
By works shall no man be justified. When Jesus came, He opened to us the door and opportunity to receive the free gift of righteousness from Him. This gift could only be received by faith in Jesus Christ, when you believe in Him as the son of God who gave His life for the world.
The righteousness we receive in Christ is righteousness by faith. Because we didn't work for it. We didn't do anything to deserve it. We simply believed and received it. So what then is the hope of righteousness by faith. Our hope is this, that God has promised that no one who puts their faith in Jesus will be condemned.
He said that at the appearing of the Lord Jesus in the sky, all who have received righteousness by faith and not by works, will be received to Himself, because it means we've trusted Him to justify us, and He has. This is the hope that we have in Christ Jesus, and it's a hope that will not fail. Hallelujah!!
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank you for your gift if righteousness and salvation to us. I thank you Lord, because I know that when you return for your church, I'll be in the number, because you've put on me your Holy Spirit as the seal of salvation. Glory to God in Jesus name. Amen
