A Catalyst For Change
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. Acts 12:5 NKJV
After James was arrested and executed, Peter was next in line. Herod the king intended to execute him too. While Peter was kept in prison, awaiting execution, the church did something different from what they did in the case of James.
The Bible says constant prayer was offered to God for Peter by the church. Constant prayer. This kind of response wasn't recorded to have taken place when James was arrested. But the church had learnt something, they had within them, the catalyst for change.
Of course they didn't desire for James to be killed. But then, they had learnt that merely desiring something wouldn't make it happen. And many times, what will bring the results we desire, are our prayers offered fervently and persistently.
Prayer is a catalyst for change. Without constant, fervent prayers, many outcomes would be in line with the wicked schemes of evil men. But when we pray fervently and persistently, we can cause the change the Spirit of God desires we have.
Affirmation: I'm a praying person, and my prayers are potent. I will not just complain. I will not just feel bad and cry. I will pray. I will pray, and by prayers offered to God, the desired change will be seen, in the name of Jesus Christ! Amen. Glory to God!
