THE PEACE OF JESUS
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27 NKJV
God's people must understand that Jesus gave to them His peace. He said to us, that He didn't give us peace like that of the world. What does this mean? The world receive peace from their confidence in a security outside.
If a man saw the police patrol his environment, he'd have some peace because he trusts in the police. If he had some good money in his account, he'd have some peace, because he trusts his ability to pay off bills.
But what happens when something attacks, and get the police down, or some economic situation comes and all the money is gone? Such a man would be troubled, because the source of his peace has been destabilized. He had peace as the world gives.
What Jesus was saying to us in essence is that we should understand that the source of our peace cannot be destabilized. He Himself is our source. We must not think like the world people, but rather choose to put our trust and confidence in Him and His ability. Hallelujah.
Affirmation: I believe in Jesus, and He is my peace! I trust in Him, His Word, His ability! I cannot be shaken. My source of peace cannot be destabilized. He rules the world! Hallelujah!
