YOUR BIRTH AND YOUR NATURE
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:6
Did you know that your nature is essentially gotten from your birth roots? It's true environmental factors and society have a huge role to play on who you finally develop to become, but your birth determines your nature and many times, your innate responses to things.
You inherit the nature of whoever births you. When you were born of your physical parents, you inherited their genes and nature. In bringing you up then, they inculcated in you their characters and beliefs.
Now listen, for a man to be born of God is just as real as it is for a baby to be born of her mum. Realise this, that just as you inherited your parents genes and nature at birth, you inherited God's genes and nature at the new birth. And this new birth replaces your parental birth!
This is why a man who is born again is a totally new person from who he was when his parents birthed him. Because now in reality God has birthed you. Your birth determines your nature. Now think of what your life would be like if you let God bring you up. Will you let Him?
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank you for birthing me, and helping me realise I am in your nature. I submit to your fatherhood. I choose to let you bring me up and inculcate in me your character and values in Jesus name. Amen
