THE PRODUCTS OF FEAR
“When he first arrived, he ate with the Gentile believers, who were not circumcised. But afterward, when some friends of James came, Peter wouldn’t eat with the Gentiles anymore. He was afraid of criticism from these people who insisted on the necessity of circumcision.”
Galatians 2:12 NLT
When Apostle Peter visited the non-Jewish Christians in Antioch, he mixed up with them and related with them very properly. They eat together, and did things in common.
But when certain man from James had come, men who believed in circumcision for salvation, Peter was afraid of them. He feared that they would judge him for eating together with the Gentiles. As a result of this fear in him, he stopped eating with the Gentiles, whom he had eaten with before.
The fear he harbored in his heart produced in him the act of hypocrisy, and this also infected some others with him; (Galatians 2:13). You see, if fear is allowed to breed in our hearts, it would produce the wrong things.
Many times, sin, suicide, depression, hypocrisy, mistakes, are the products of fear. Refuse to allow fear stay in you. No fear at all, so that it wouldn’t produce in you evil or sin or anything not of God.
Prayer: I refuse to allow fear stay in me. I refuse to allow anything not of God to breed in my heart. I don’t look at men for validation of right and wrong. I look at the word of God, and I live by the word of God, in the name of Jesus Christ amen.
