2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
Purge; this refers to the process of removing or titrating out impurities.Alot of us are admist impurities, addictions, shackles and we keep battling with this to the point of seeing it as a veil of condemnation and self guilt, always know that there's hope for the clay vessels.
No matter how bad you think your story is,no matter how sticky and smelling you think you are, deep down in your secret you have cancelled yourself for use, each night you soak your pillows with tears of guilt, you are tired and fed up that you cannot even tell anybody about it anymore, you are nailed to that judgemental voice of the enemy, telling you that "you are the worst of it all".
But no,you've got it all wrong, here I present you with a demanding but redemptive message of purification, for how long would you desire for a span of peace??
Note: vs 21 says if therefore a man PURGES himself, you shall be a vessel of honour and used for the master's use..This passage teaches us to always give yielding for purging our hearts, there's always hope for the clay and wooden vessel if they go through purification and purging. You might think you are getting it right but your hearts is not right with God,And God said I sought for a man, doesn't it mean there was no man? No...he's needed a purged vessel for the master's use
