REFUSE TO COMPETE
But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. James 3:14
The Lord in His Word has promised us who are in Him a successful and glorious life. This means that we all should work towards living that life. However one very important thing to consider is the motive for which we seek to live successfully and gloriously.
What is the drive. For some people, the reason they want to do better than they are doing is primarily so that they'll be better or superceed what some others are doing.Some people even feel threatened by the success of others, because whether they accept it or not, in their hearts, they are competing with others.
Competing on who can pray more, on who can be more influential, who dresses better, who gets the more attention, and so on. That's so sad. What a wrong way to live. Once you reduce yourself to start competing with others, you're simply saying that you're not good enough and you see them as your standard.
You want to live like them before you believe you're enough. That's so sad. That's not how Jesus called you to live. Don't do that to yourself.Jesus is your standard. His life is your aim. Refuse to compete. Simply choose to live for Jesus. You're blessed. TCF
