DIVORCE THE DISTRACTION
“For every soldier called to active duty must divorce himself from the distractions of this world so that he may fully satisfy the one who chose him.”
2 Timothy 2:4 TPT
We understand that as sons and daughters of the kingdom, we are enlisted in heavens army? To spread the kingdom of God on earth. We are instructed in Ephesians 6:13 to put on the whole armour of God (ie the soldiers ammunition) so as to be able to firmly withstand the enemy.
We must be aware that we are at war and there is no neutral ground! (Matthew 12:30 MSG). Let that awareness fill you. You are a soldier and an enemy to the enemy. You are called into active service by the Holy Spirit, because we are called to walk according to the Spirit daily.
Now every soldier called to active service must divorce himself from the distractions of this world, so that he can fully satisfy the one who chose him. Notice that scripture didn’t say that he must divorce the sins of this world, but the distractions of it. So a thing might not be actually a sin directly, but it might be distracting in a way.
If you must achieve much in the kingdom, then distractions must be cut off. If you don’t, your relevance and function in the kingdom will be inhibited. Don’t just avoid sin, identify those things that might not be sin in itself but are shaking your focus and get them off so you can fly! You’re blessed. TCF.
