YOUR SKILLS ARE GOOD BUT...
And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. 1 Corinthians 2:1
Even though apostle Paul was learned and highly skilled in education, being an intelligent lawyer, he didn’t let his mental skills be his source of confidence or primary medium of preaching Christ. Apostle Paul actually had an Excellence of speech and Great natural wisdom; you can tell from his letters.
Yet he did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring the testimony of God. Just as, though David (the King) had five stones, he did not come against Goliath by the stones, but by the name of the living God. In Apostle Paul’s case, he said, "for I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. (1 Corinthians 2:2)
You see your credentials and skills are good. Your physical and mental abilities, your advantages in the flesh are good, but let them not be your confidence or your rooting.Let your confidence be in Christ Jesus Himself and let your credentials at best only be a tool to communicate or reveal Christ.
You with the beautiful voice must depend on the Holy Spirit for beautiful worship when you lead the songs. You with great talking skills must depend on the Holy Spirit for proper revelation of Christ when you teach the Word. Let your confidence be in the Holy Spirit and His power. You are blessed. TCF.
