YOU OWE YOURSELF LOVE
Matthew 22:39
And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Many times, people want to be loved, and treated with care. They love to be checked on, encouraged, prayed for and so on. While those things are very nice, there's something most people have failed to realise. Jesus said, love your neighbour as you love yourself.
Two things are involved in the commandment. One, that you love your neighbour, and two, that you love yourself. And Jesus says how you love your neighbour, should be just as you love yourself. This means you have an obligation to love yourself. Many people have neglected this. And you can never love your neighbour properly, until you learn to love yourself properly.
Just as you ought to pray for people, pray for yourself. Just as you want people to show you care, care for yourself. Just as you want people to encourage you, encourage yourself. Just as you want people to show you love, show that love to yourself.
As you ought to make people smile, ensure you make yourself smile. No human being has the obligation to love you before you. You owe it to yourself. And if you choose not to love yourself, you're going against God's Word. How have you treated yourself before now, have you shown yourself love? Check within and love yourself. You're blessed. -TCF
