THE GOODNESS OF GOD
Romans 2:4
Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
Sometimes, people wonder why God is lenient and patient with people who are living wrong lives, and aren't working out their salvation. Some people think this patience would cause such people to go more astray.
Even those for whom the patience and goodness of God is displayed make the same mistake to think same thoughts. But no! No! No! God is wisdom Himself, so everything He does is wise, whether you understand it at the moment or not.
The goodness of God, in accordance with His wisdom and love works repentance in the lives of those who aren't living in obedience to the word. This mystery is captured in God's love. Have you experienced this before? Someone does wrong to you, that should hurt and vex you, but instead of responding with pain, agony or anger, you respond in pure love to the person and the person ends up breaking down in tears, asking you to forgive him or her?
If you've seen such, that's the same wisdom at work here to such people. Don't continue in that sin or that disobedience to God's word. Is not worth it. He put His own Life to death for you, why don't you take God more seriously today. He's still waiting on you. Talk to Him now. You're blessed. -TCF
