DANGERS OF BELIEVING A LIE
John 8:32
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
The danger of believing a lie is that, if you believe a lie, you will live a lie. What this means is that if you choose to believe things not in line with truth from the Word, then your life will not be lived according to the Word.
Therefore, you will not be in the complete protection of the Word since you already exposed yourself to lies. It doesn't matter whether you were aware that what you believed was a lie or not. Many times, when people believe lies, they are ignorant of the fact that they're believing lies. They think what they've got is truth and so they commit themselves to it.
Still they're responsible for their belief, because the only reason they were ignorant that a lie was a lie is because they stopped listening to the Holy Spirit. A lie is not necessarily an opposite of the truth, but is simply a perversion of it. And this is why many are deceived. When you believe a lie, you think lies.
When you think lies, you talk lies. When you talk lies, you live lies. Thus your life experience will not conform to the truth of God's Word. This is why we must seek to remain in the truth, as revealed by the Holy Spirit only. Because once we believe otherwise, we will live according to what we believe. Refuse to live a lie. Choose to believe only the truth of God's Word. You're blessed. -TCF
