ANGELS DON'T EAT JOLLOF RICE; OPEN LETTER TO MY BABE....
As the day I will finally walk down the isle with you draws closer, I have been having plenty "alone moments", moments when I have been asking myself critical questions about our future, and checking how prepared I am to take on the responsibility of leading a virtuous woman like you for life. In all sincerity, I am only going to rely on the leading of the Spirit per time. I have never been on this road before, I can only trust the one who instituted it.
As I sit, I am recounting experiences; the good, the bad and the ugly ones, the mistakes, the costly assumptions, and the successes littered here and there on the journey, all I can say is; finding you is finding mercy.I am too sure I don't deserve you.
You came into my life and change the narrative in no time, you are bold, firm, strong, and unwavering in your approach to life, it could only have been you.
"Angels don't eat jollof rice" was a phrase I found in a book written by Daddy G. O, titled "The mathematics of marriage". Baba was simply stating that anyone who eats jollof rice is not an angel because angels are spirits, therefore anyone who eats jollof rice is not perfect, the fellow can make mistakes also. I know too well we are God's perfect will for each other, and I also know that this is a divine set up by God to perfect his ways in us, thereby using us to achieve the level of brokenness that He has not been able to achieve in us over the years.
Yes this journey is a journey of bliss and a lot of fulfilment, much more, it is a journey to becoming like Christ. Happiness is good but much more we will never fail to sacrifice it if it makes us compromise this singular purpose.
Like we have always agreed, we will grow in Christ and in all areas of life, but we will never lose our ordinariness.
