THE PERSON OF GOD'S VOICE
Genesis 3:8
And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
From yesterday's teaching, we have seen that the voice of God is actually the Holy Spirit who reveals the Word of God to you. This simply means that the voice of God is a personality. The person of the Holy Spirit who is God. He is not just a sound wave or an audible force. No! The voice of God is an actual person, with a will, with intentions, with motives, with "emotions" so to say.
He is an actual person. He is God. It now makes sense why Adam and Eve could hear the voice of God walk. They knew the voice of God very well. They knew He was alive. Not just alive, but they knew the voice of God sees, hears, moves, feels, thinks. Etc. They knew the voice of God is the person of God.
He is the Holy Spirit who reveals God's Word. And this is one of the primary functions of the Holy Spirit in our lives. To reveal God and our Lord Jesus Christ to us. To communicate God to us. To make God known to us. He guides us into all truth! Catch this! Many people think that to hear God's voice means to hear an audible voice in their ears. This is wrong.
To hear God's voice is simply to receive a revelation of God's Word. To be communicated to by God in any way at all. Whether through an audible voice or not. Any way God chooses to reveal His Word to you, any way He chooses to make you know Him and His desires, is you hearing His voice. It is diverse, but we'll continue tomorrow.
