THE KINGDOM AGENDA
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
You see Jesus was very specific with His statement here. He was very much aware that there are a lot of 'important' things that the world needs. He knew people needed to be clothed, housed, fed, educated, entertained,etc. He knew all these very much.
But in spite of everything, He says we should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then the rest will be added unto us. This actually gives us a priority for living. God's kingdom and God's righteousness.
Now the people who Jesus was talking to hadn't yet received God's kingdom into them, but we who have accepted Christ have done so. We are in God's kingdom, and we have the righteousness of God at work in us. That's our salvation!
Now we are to put our salvation to work in our lives. (Phil 2:12), by the help of the Holy Spirit. Let our lives be lived with the kingdom agenda; i.e To live by the kingdom (living righteously) and to live for the kingdom (keep spreading the good news of the kingdom of God). This should be our core for living.
Everything we do, every activity we engage in, let us seek to advance God's kingdom through them. That's the kingdom agenda! To spread the kingdom to the end of the earth! (Acts 1:8). That's why we are on earth! To live for the kingdom, while living by the kingdom. To spread the goodnews and win souls for Christ. We must live our lives and do our activities with the kingdom mindset if we must live successfully. Be wise! Remain on the Word and in prayers. You're blessed. -TCF
