THE JOY OF THE RAPTURE 2
1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Now when we discuss the rapture, many times people are uneasy on the subject because they find it scary and terrifying. This is only supposed to be the reaction of an unbeliever who has heard and suspects it's true, but refuses to be saved. The reaction of fear and worry to the rapture is a very wrong one for the man who is born again.
God expects that you should be happy and rejoice at the news that He's coming for you again. Remember that that's part of why He saved you. To come get you back to be with Him fully. He didn't save you, to scare you with the thought of leaving you behind when He returns, no! Such fearful thoughts don't proceed from the Spirit of God at all.
They are from the devil, so you must reject them. You must have this joy and confidence that your Daddy, the King of glory is coming for you again. He didn't shed His blood to cause you to believe, then have you live in panic that He'll leave you behind. The one who gives you reason to think such is the devil.
The tools He uses to plunge such thoughts into your head are sin consciousness and your lack of awareness of the love of the Father. Don't forget that Jesus died to get you the total forgiveness of sins and the grace (ability and desire) to live holy for Him. This was an expression of His perfect love for you. We'll look more deeply into these tomorrow. Refuse to be scared of the rapture and embrace the love of God. You're blessed. -TCF
