FAITH, THE SUBSTANTIAL EVIDENCE
1 John 5:14-15
Some Christians have been taught over time, that when they pray or after they pray to the Father concerning something, then they should expect to receive the answers for the prayers they've made. So they pray, and have an expectation, waiting for the answers to the prayers to come. So they wait for answers in expectation. This sounds so good and so true, but this isn't exactly consistent with what the Word teaches new covenant believers. For the old covenant men yeah, they could do this and be accurate. But for we who are born again, we have a better covenant, and we must understand what we've got. Apostle John teaches that "this is the confidence we have in Him, that when we ask according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, in whatever we ask, then we know that WE HAVE the request which we have asked." Please understand scriptures by the Holy Ghost.
He says, if we know that He hears us, then we know that WE HAVE the request we ask. He didn't say, "...then we know that WE WILL HAVE the request." He says then we know that WE HAVE! Upon asking, you've moved from the expectation to the substance and evidence (Hebrews 11:1). That's faith! You're no longer expecting the answers. You understand that you've got the answers already!! Hey! Receive the grace to understand this truth. So you'll be in error if, after praying, your understanding is that you will receive answers. Faith is that after praying, you understand that you have received answers in the now already! And you declare as such, confess as such, testify as such! It may not look like it physically YET, but hey! A thousand times, we don't walk by sight! We walk by faith! This is deep, but if you choose to, then you'd already understand this. Someone says, "what if I didn't pray according to His will". We'll handle that tomorrow. You're blessed. Stay on the Word and in prayer! -TCF
